"Mobile-8 & Smart Officially Merged"

BUSINESSS,JAKARTA: PT Mobile-8 Tbk and PT Smart Telecom Tbk secured approval for merger to be PT SmartFren Telecom Tbk. The name was agreed at Extraordinary Meeting of Shareholders of PT Mobile-8 Tbk, today.


The change of name of the company will be effective after collecting the agreement from Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.

Corporate Secretary Chris Taufik said that the company will be headed by Rodolfo Pantoja serving as President Director, replacing Merza Fachys which previously served as President Director of PT Mobile-8 Tbk.

“Besides, the Extraordinary Meeting of Shareholders also agrees on separation of the core businessand support activities of the company, to meet requirements of Capital Market Supervisory Agency [Bapepam],” he said.

According to him, the meeting is to accomodate synergy of Mobile-8 and Smart since 2009. (NOM)
