Australian businesses glance Tanah Abang ?

Jakarta-Businessmen visited Australia from Tanah Abang market which is known as the largest textile wholesale center in Southeast Asia.

"Later, the retail entrepreneur from Melbourne Australia as wellhave penetrated the Tanah Abang market," said ChairmanPriamanaya Group Priamanaya Djan after receiving the Board ofCommerce trade mission visit Malay-Malaysia on Tuesday(04/19/2011). Priamanaya Group is the owner of Block A andBlock B Tanah Abang market.

He mentioned, in a week about 10-20 retail group of businessmencame to the Tanah Abang market. "They started coming heresince the opening of flights from Jakarta to Melbourne, Australia,from last year," he said.

Priamanaya admit, the arrival of Australian retailers to Tanah Abang market is not yet serutin businessmen from other countries,like Malaysia, which reach 1000-1500 people per day.

Priamanaya, who is also Chairman of the Department of LocalEmpowerment Kadin Jakarta, citing, the Tanah Abang textile andgarment wholesale center in Southeast Asia with a large number of visitors reached 80,000 people per day. "They're from all overIndonesia and abroad, such as Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore,Africa, and Saudi Arabia," he said.
The value of business transactions and merchant turnover reachedabout USD 500 billion, or 50 million U.S. dollars per day.

Regarding investment in Indonesia, Malaysia, Priamanayamention, Malaysia became the eighth investors from aroundforeign investment in Indonesia. During the years 2004-2009, the number of Malaysian capital reached 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.
